IMPACT SoAZ offers two distinct meal programs for seniors who reside in the Greater Catalina and Saddlebrooke areas. Participants must be 60 or over, but their circumstances vary, including seniors recovering from surgery, someone who is physically challenged, or those with a low to moderate income. We feature freshly prepared meals on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, served family style at the Senior Center in Catalina at 16701 N. Oracle Rd., #145 from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We also deliver meals to approximately 65 homebound seniors on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. They receive a hot meal for that day as well as frozen meals to have on the non-delivery days.  With the help of our very special kitchen volunteers and drivers, we annually serve more than 3,000 meals in our center and deliver over 20,000 meals.

Thanks to a generous Tucson Electric Power partnership grant, we are also now delivering meals to homebound seniors in Vail.

Our New Senior Center Is Opening Soon!
One very exciting upcoming event is the impending opening of our new senior center in Catalina Pointe Shopping Center, next to Carlota’s Mexican Cuisine restaurant, which will host a variety of activities, something that has been long awaited by all of us! Paint is on the walls, cabinets and flooring are in, and furniture is being delivered. Senior Center Manager Manager Jan Myren and Program Assistant Colleen Johnson  have been scheduling activities such as movie afternoons, a documentary series, card and game days, guest lecturers, musicians, and morning coffees to chat or to discuss current events. There will be reading areas, computers, Wii games and competitions, and of course, our ever popular BINGO!

Finally our neighborhood will have a place for our seniors to socialize all day long Monday through Friday! As soon as we get final clearance from the County, we will invite you all in, and please feel free to swing by and look through the windows in the meantime! Calendars of events will be available online and at the center once we open.
