CCS will be hosting holiday events for local families.
Check our calendars (below) for details.
Each Tuesday morning, from 10:00 to 10:30 am, volunteers will be reading to young children as their parents shop in our Clothing Bank. On Tuesday October 25th families will gather at CCS for a Halloween Literacy Party - thanks to funding, planning, and time donated by our terrific Amphi and SaddleBrooke Rotary partners.
We are having a TURKEY Drive. Heading out of town for the holidays? Did your market give you a free turkey because you bought other groceries? Looking for some way to make the holiday special for needy families? Drop off a turkey at our Food Bank (3535 E Hawser Street in Catalina) and we'll keep it frozen until Thanksgiving week with the help of local restaurants such as Priced Rite Pizza. Last year we gave out nearly 300 Thanksgiving Dinner Packages to families in the area! We purchase cranberry sauce, potatoes, gravy, rolls, pies, vegetables, stuffing and all the other traditional foods, then our wonderful friends, the Catalina Elks of Lodge 2815, come in and help box it all up.
Interested in providing a couple of toys and a piece of clothing or two for a child this season? We host our annual Adopt-a-Family project through mid-December. Sign up now (before Thanksgiving) to be matched to one of our more than 150 registered families who have submitted their children's names for this program. Chose the number of children you would like to adopt, receive a simple wish list, and deliver the items, wrapped, to our offices before mid-December. Click Here to be directed to our sign up form.
Look for us in Oro Valley! We serve residents there as well.
We'll be in booth #44 at the Oro Valley Expo all day Saturday October 29th at Steam Pump Village 11000 N Oracle Road. Come by and meet us in person. We'd be happy to answer any questions.
We'll be there!
We are the beneficiary of that event's food drive, so if you plan to be sitting at the curb, please consider bringing a few cans of food for the Food Bank. We'll be collecting along the parade route.
